Early coverage will be limited by neighborhood, age lane, caregiver availability, transportation, and request-specific safety requirements.

Opportino is designed for planned care, recurring care, and the unexpected. That can include a known school closure, a weekly two-hour block, early-release Wednesdays, a daily gap for several weeks, afterschool care, parent-relief time, a delayed pickup, a sitter cancellation, evening care, or weekend support. Tell us what changed or what repeats, and Opportino coordinates the strongest available plan.

Applying is free. Accepted families confirm a spot with a $25 refundable reservation, credited to the first $99 membership month. There is no minimum membership commitment. The $99 founding rate is planned to be protected for 12 months, the planned standard rate is $149 per month, and the first hour of your first care session is free with Founding Family membership. After that free first hour, care is priced for the actual request rather than through one universal hourly rate. You see and approve one complete price before care is booked.

A two-hour recurring block with a nearby caregiver is a different assignment from a same-day school pickup across town, infant care, sibling care, or a request that needs transportation. Opportino uses those real factors to prepare a request-specific quote while keeping the customer experience simple: one complete price, shown before confirmation.

Submit the full schedule in the app. Opportino will provide a clear written package quote based on total hours, dates, location, child age and care needs, caregiver continuity, and transportation. The package is priced as a plan rather than a stack of isolated emergency assignments.

Yes. Recurring plans are designed around a primary caregiver who can build a consistent relationship with your child. The schedule is placed on your calendar automatically, so you do not have to rebook or reconfirm the same care every week unless you choose that setting.

We work hard to fill the gap with a substitute when someone in your CareCircle or your regular Opportino caregiver is sick or unavailable. Opportino keeps built-in slack in the system through pre-approved backup caregivers, warm standby, and active re-staffing so we can respond dynamically instead of making the search fall back on you. The app updates the assigned caregiver, care brief, transportation, and school authorization where applicable. Coverage is confirmed once an eligible substitute accepts, and you choose whether a pre-approved backup may be confirmed automatically or requires your approval.

Yes. Short recurring care is one of the strongest fits for Opportino. A predictable two-hour block each week can be easier to staff than a one-time request because it gives your caregiver a consistent schedule and your child a familiar, trusted face.

We’ll build the plan around your preferred days, location, care needs, and caregiver availability, place the full series on your calendar, and aim to keep the same primary caregiver—with backup support behind the plan if they are ever unavailable.

No. Parents at home full-time also need protected time for appointments, errands, focused work, exercise, rest, volunteering, or time with another child. Recurring parent-relief blocks are a first-class use case—not an emergency-only feature.

Yes. Most nanny arrangements cover work hours. Opportino covers everything they do not: date nights, weekends, your nanny’s sick days and vacations, and the transition weeks between nannies—with the same briefed-caregiver and live-updates standard.

The proposed core pilot lane is ages 2–12. Opportino also plans pre-booked in-home toddler care for ages 12–23 months and a limited infant beta for ages 6–11 months as qualified caregivers and age-specific protocols become available. Care for children under 6 months will begin as a waitlist. Each request remains subject to the caregiver’s verified experience and Opportino’s operating boundaries.

Parents upload a school, preschool, or camp calendar. Opportino’s AI-assisted scan identifies possible closures, minimum days, early releases, holidays, and camp-hour gaps. The parent reviews every date against the original calendar before setting a reminder, starting a one-time request, or creating a recurring plan. Nothing is booked automatically.

When your child needs to move between school, home, or a partner program, Opportino keeps everything together in a single workflow: your pickup authorization, the school’s release rules, the destination, child-restraint requirements, live trip status, care notes, and a documented handoff at the end.

Who does the driving depends on the request, and we’ll always tell you exactly who before you confirm. During the pilot, transportation is offered only where we can meet our own safety standards: a named, identified adult your school has verified, an age-appropriate car seat, insurance confirmed for that specific trip, and live location sharing to your phone. If we cannot yet meet that standard, we will say so plainly and coordinate care around a parent or another parent-approved adult instead.

As Opportino grows, transportation may be coordinated through trained Opportino caregivers, vetted transportation partners who specialize in transporting children, or other approved models. The rule never changes: you see the specific person, transportation plan, and child-restraint arrangement before any trip is confirmed, and no child travels with anyone you have not approved.

Traditional marketplaces provide profiles and leave the parent to contact caregivers one by one. Opportino manages matching, request-specific quotes, recurring schedules, primary-caregiver continuity, substitutions, transportation, school authorization, live updates, and documented handoffs inside one system.

A nanny is one relationship; Opportino is the coverage layer around any primary arrangement—school, aftercare, a co-op, a stay-at-home parent, or a nanny.

Opportino Play Days are parent-present neighborhood events where children meet a broad, locally relevant group of caregivers through bubbles, stories, art, movement, and open play. Children can collect stickers after meeting five curated caregivers and trade a completed Play Day Passport for a goody bag. Parents can observe caregivers in action, and interested families and caregivers can become part of a broader CareCircle for future matching.

A Play Day does not guarantee that the same caregiver will be available when care is needed. It makes it more likely that a future match may begin with a face your child has seen before. Caregivers can also share a short hello video in the app.
